About Me and The Process
Hello! I am a woodworker in the Boston area who has been building for about 20 years. My specialty is in simple designs made from high-quality materials, with inspiration from the Shaker, midcentury, and Japanese woodworking. I tend towards rectilinear forms rather than curves, shadow lines, high attention to detail, and letting the natural color of the wood shine through.
With each project, my hope is to make an heirloom piece that will last generations.
When I embark on a project, I will work with you to understand what you’re looking for, measuring the space and understanding your style, and then create rough sketches followed by more detailed drafts as we finalize the design. We’ll also select materials (oak, cherry, walnut, fir, …) and finish (oil vs. water, satin vs. gloss) along the way.
